SITE
This challenging site is located off of Mike Shapiro Drive in Clinton, adjacent to a high rise elderly facility and townhouses.

PROGRAM
Design a 111-unit apartment complex for independent seniors with common areas including multi-use rooms, a library, a wellness office, gardens and related amenities. 

SOLUTION
The unique shape of the site created the opportunity to design an dynamic interior garden courtyard surrounded by apartments. The open corridor faces the courtyard gardens and allows each unit to receive light from both the exterior of the building as well as the interior courtyard. Rich cedar siding, the site's ever-changing gardens and the Robert Cole sculpture "Cloud Tree" all add to the warmth and serenity of the building's courtyard.
