SITE
The property is located one block from the Metro on Georgia Avenue in the Petworth Neighborhood of Northwest Washington, DC. The .7 acre site falls a full story from Georgia Avenue to the alley at the rear.

PROGRAM
The program called for mixed uses, to include a community health clinic at the ground floor, 130 mixed-income apartment units above and underground parking. The project is part of a pilot program for the LEED ND (Neighborhood Development) certification.

SOLUTION
The five-story plus loft residential building features a central courtyard and sits on top of a 28,000 SF community health clinic. Parking for both uses is provided in three levels underground and accessed from the alley. The single-loaded corridor to the south anticipates a future Phase 2. The front facade is composed of a series of bays and a vegetated green screen. The building has an extensive green roof and incorporates a mix of uses and incomes to help achieve the LEED ND GOLD certification.
